Our energy-benchmark know-how is of utmost value to
quickly develop benchmarks within the EU ETS framework. A very straightforward
approach is the extension of existing PDC energy benchmarks for EU ETS application.
An important advantage of such an approach over a “start from scratch” is compliance
with an existing benchmark, which methodology already has been officially approved by
official authorities.
At the moment a number of product groups has asked PDC to develop
CO2 benchmarks under the EU ETS system.
For other products or product groups, the development of benchmarks on the
basis of PDC’s energy benchmarks is certainly possible. It provides the opportunity to
become eligible for free emission rights as well. We are open to discuss with you
